For more than a century, the Original Basler Läckerli has symbolized the success of Läckerli Huus. In 1903, young André Klein from the Bernese Oberland became a partner in a Basel confectionery, which he took over a year later. Basler Läckerli was part of the core assortment from the very beginning and is still made today using the unchanged original recipe. High-quality ingredients such as honey, almonds, hazelnuts, candied orange peel, candied lemon peel, select spices, and Basel cherry brandy are the foundation of this classic treat.
Early on, André Klein recognized the advertising power of decorative packaging and focused on artistically painted biscuit tins. This tradition continues to this day, especially during Christmas when Läckerli Huus surprises its customers with new, decorative gift and collector tins.
Our commitment to the highest quality applies from raw materials to packaging and store presentation. Our confectioners' careful production involves skill and a lot of attention to detail.
At our production facility in Frenkendorf near Basel, products are crafted and packaged with a lot of handwork. These specialties are available in our own stores throughout Switzerland. Additionally, our online shop and order service by phone or mail are extremely popular. Some of our classics can also be found in retail stores.
Since 2007, the company has been successfully led by Mrs. Miriam Baumann-Blocher. Under her leadership, the brand’s appearance was modernized, the sales network expanded, and the range of innovative products extended.
